How Can I Create My Own QR Code?

Dear friends, what do these QR codes, which have been very popular in recent years and even started to be used in restaurants and cafes with the pandemic, do? Where were they used for the first time? What advantages do they have and where do we use them the most in daily life. In the following part of the article, I also included information about how you can create and use your own QR code as a bonus, before coming to that part, let's discover these tiny codes together.

QR code is a type of 2D barcode that takes its name from the initials of the words (Quick Response). For the first time in 1994, Toyota's Denso company patented the QR code and started to use it in industry. Over time, it entered the industrial sectors and started to be used in medicine boxes for the first time in our country.

Barcode systems

Barcode systems, which continue to be used today, have practically the same principle as QR codes, but have become a system that has become less popular because it cannot hold as much information as QR code. QR codes actually owe this fame to barcodes. In short, we can call QR codes a more advanced version of barcodes that can store more information. These square codes can contain around 6800 characters.

So what is the working logic of these codes? You bought a chocolate bar from the market, the cashier read a barcode such as 12345698, the information corresponding to this number is read from the database, this information is sent to the barcode device and displayed on the computer. Let's say we lost communication with the database and there is an access problem in the network you are using. Wouldn't it be great if we could store all the information in a single barcode? QR codes are being developed exactly for these needs. In this way, we are starting to use a technology that has its own database in itself.

QR Code

Nowadays, it is used in many areas from important chat programmes such as snapchat, whatsapp, messenger, from electricity poles to entrances to plazas; from digital menus to ATMs. While doing research, I came across a few unusual areas of use. In America, people have recently added square codes on tombstones with their last words or personal information about them. Another unusual use is the tattooing of a favourite song or photo link.

Now let's create our own QR code in a few steps and show off to our friends. There are a few sites to do this, my favourite is https://www.qrstuff.com/. After entering here, you determine what kind of data you will embed in your QR code from the DATA TYPE field, I chose the website URL and added a Youtube link in the next step. In the third step, you can make up your QR code, add an icon, change its colour and size. And the process is done, after saying "Dowland Qr Code", the image will appear directly in front of you, you can also benefit from this service without paying the fees offered to you.

To read the QR code you created on your phone; If you have IOS operating system, your camera is enough for you, you can use the "QR code reader" application for Android operating system. I am leaving the QR code of a favourite performance below, enjoyable listening.
